Robert Edward O. Speedwagon

A straightforward drink for a straightforward man.

Ginger beer - 180ml
Bourbon whiskey - 20ml
A dash of orange bitters

Start with your shot of bourbon whiskey, add ginger beer. Add a dash of orange bitters to taste.

Sweetness ★☆☆☆☆
Refreshing ★★★☆☆
Alcohol content ★★☆☆☆
Acquired taste ★★★☆☆
Predilection to leaving coolly ★★★★☆

Notes: While ginger beer can be off putting if you're trying it out for the first time, this is a great drink if you prefer something a little less sweet.

BG Notes: Today we made this with Bulleit bourbon and Bundaberg ginger beer. I had tried this out previously with American Honey, but I think the Bulleit is a little less sweet, and mixed a bit better with the ginger beer.

Brewed ginger beer was very popular around Speedwagon's time, and I wanted something the felt like a downtown drink while still retaining a little bit of the strength of Speedwagon's soul.
