Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli

A bubbly little drink for our favorite bubble warrior.

Asti wine - 50 ml
Cognac - 10 ml
2 dashes Orange Bitters
1 Sugar Cube
Orange slice

Place a sugar cube in a chilled flute. Dash the sugar with orange bitters. Add the Asti, float the cognac on top, and add your orange slice/twist.

Sweetness ★★★★☆
Refreshing ★★☆☆☆
Alcohol content ★★★☆☆
Acquired taste ★★☆☆☆
Zeppelli Family Spirit ★★★★☆

Notes: A variation on the traditional champagne cocktail, this drink is sweet and popular with the ladies. Bubbly and a little old fashioned, this classic is stronger than it appears at first meeting.

BG Notes: For this drink we used Courvoisier and Martini Asti wine.
I might play around and see if I like a drier champagne for Caesar, but overall I rather liked it.
I might try a champagne coupe next time as well, but I like how long the bubbles last in the flute? I think there's still some room for perfecting this, so you might see another post in the future.
I think that adding something less sweet might balance out it's sweetness and might make it a bit easier to drink.

Update: I tried decreasing the amount of Asti wine, and seeing how it turned out in the champane coupe. I think it turned out much better!

  1. And then afterwards, give a maraschino cherry and your favorite scarf to your best friend.
